Kellie Seals, Founder/Director

Kellie Seals gained a love for English in elementary school.  Since that time, many amazing educators have poured into her which led to her wanting to pursue education.  Throughout her undergrad career, she worked with the America Reads program, which provides additional reading support to help elementary students become successful readers.  In 2006, she graduated from VCU with a bachelor’s degree in English.  Soon after graduating from VCU, she started a teaching career as a middle school English teacher in the public school setting.  In 2008, she graduated from Averett University with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

As a middle school English teacher, she was able to gain experience with teaching research-based best practices for literacy instruction.  In 2017, Kellie obtained a post-graduate certificate from VCU as a certified reading specialist for K-12.  Since receiving specialized training in how to teach reading, she has been able to implement many strategies within her classroom and through tutoring sessions.

Additionally, Kellie has participated in curriculum writing teams and collaborated with other reading specialists to provide professional development to help middle and high school teachers implement reading and writing strategies in the classroom.  For the past few years, she has provided extra support and individualized tutoring services to students in elementary through college.  With over 15 years of professional educational experience, Kellie is committed and eager to provide the necessary tools to help build and develop learners to successfully produce in the world.
